The Los Angeles Dodgers are celebrating a World Series Championship today thanks to some untimely errors by the New York Yankees in the fifth inning last night. Not to take anything away from the Dodgers, but the Bronx Bombers handed the game to L.A. with their atrocious defense. By any definition, their inability to manage the fundamentals when it mattered the most deserves to be labeled a choke.
Doug Gottlieb: “When the pressure and magnitude of a moment causes you to perform at a level far below the normal standard for you or for your team personally, that’s choking. The Yankees choked.”
